Cinemaissí (English post)

Cinemaissí Association is an independent, non-profit organization. It was founded in 2005.

Since then, it´s organizing the Latin American and Caribbean Film Festival in Helsinki every year. This is 6th edition. The films are projected in the Dubrovnik Lounge and Kino cinema, they are inside Andorra, from tomorrow, on 7th, to next Sunday, on 10th of October.

Sixteen countries are going to be represented this year, with 42 productions: films, short films, animated movies and documentaries.

In the same way, Cinemaissito is the 4th Latin American and Caribbean Children and Youth Film Exhibition and it´ll be held on Saturday, the 9th, from 12 to 18 in Luckan. There will be several films and workshops. Also Animaissito, a short film created for teenagers between 12 and 16 years, using stop motion, will be projected at 15.30 on Luckan too. Its thematic this year is "Children´s rights".

According to their website, the admission is free and everybody is welcome, without distinction of age or language!

Tomorrow, I´m going to see a documentary, Ojos bien abiertos (Eyes wide open), directed by Gonzalo Arijón. He shows us the socio-political situation in South America nowdays under human and emotional point of view. He has based his story on Las venas abiertas de América Latina, a Eduardo Galeano´s book.
